Spokane Poetry Slam

PSi Certified

Spokane Poetry Slam holds 2 monthly slams on the first and third Sunday of each month. We use standard slam scoring and rules for both events, and include features between the first and second rounds. Finals are held in May, and include the top eight point-earners over the course of the previous year. The top four poets at Finals are included on the team representing Spokane at the National Poetry Slam, and the Grand Slam Champion is the representative at iWPS. If the Grand Slam Champion is female, she is given the opportunity to compete at WOWPS, iWPS, or both if she chooses.

We pay $100 for feature poets, and provide lodging when necessary. To be considered to feature at a Spokane Poetry Slam event, poets must have competed at a PSI event on a national level (NPS, iWPS, or WOWPS) at least once.
