As we successfully complete another Spring SlamMaster Conference, we do a little shifting and changing of arms as well. If you didn't know, every Spring, SlamMasters from all over the globe that are registered with PSi congregate on some poor unsuspecting (and sometimes suspecting) city and we wreak havoc for an entire weekend while we hammer out policies, rules and other ugly things that make each year's NPS, iWPS and WOWps all the more fun and/or agonizing (it's all about perspective folks :-P). Anyway... During that time, we also elect our new class of Executive Council members. These voted volunteers help run the administrative aspect of Poetry Slam, Inc. (such as helping determine where money gets spent, fundraising, you know...the "dirty" dirty work). This year's EC class of 2008 has been elected and with this election, we say goodbye to some of our most valued members as well as welcome some fresh blood and welcome back some of our vets. So we bid a sad, but loving farewell to Rachel McKibbens (SlamMistress for NYC - Bar 13, Louder Arts) and Don McIver (SlamMaster for Albuquerque, NM). We wish you both well and much success and we will be harassing you occasionally for guidance, and the pure hell of it. Now...please welcome our newest members of the Executive Council... |
