Our New Executive Director

It is with great pleasure and pride that I am able to announce that the Executive Council has hired the new Executive Director for Poetry Slam, Inc.: Abigail Ehn!

Abigail brings years of PSi experience to the table from behind the scenes. Literally raised on Slam, she has acted as a volunteer at PSi since her teens in capacities including registration, money handling and database management. She brings a wealth of enthusiasm, knowledge and vision to the role. She is only the second person to hold this position since PSi's inception, after the recently departed* Steve Marsh.

Rudy Francisco wins iWPS 2010!

Another Individual World Poetry Slam is finished, and the winner is Rudy Francisco!

You may remember Rudy from NPS 2009, where he won the Underground Indies (NUPIC), and was showcased in the finals.

On the Issues Magazine - Women in Slam Article

Poet Lauren Zuniga wrote a piece for On the Issues Magazine about women in the poetry slam community, and I thought it needed to be shared.

On the Issues asked if they could use my poem, Girl:Exploded, in their issue about equality. They wondered if I could write a bit about the process of writing it and I asked them if I could also talk about Women of the World and women/slam in general so that is what this article is. I know there is so much I left out but I had a word limit. It has links to PSi and WOWps and a few poets as well.
