Theresa Davis - 2011 WoWPS Champ |
It wasn't easy for Theresa to get into the 2011 Women of the World Poetry Slam. She wasn't registered, didn't win the video slam, and didn't win the last chance slam. Because of a dropout, she moved off the waiting list, into the competition, and then into history.
Congratulations Theresa!

After a virtual Slam battle, iCon has won the Brenda Moossy Video Slam Competition with her poem "Voices" and has earned a slot in the 2011 Women of the World Poetry Slam.

 Columbus, OH has been selected to host the 2011 Women of the World Poetry Slam (WOWps), a national spoken word event in its 4th year. The event is scheduled to be held March 9-12, 2011.
Venues for the preliminary competitions and day events are slated for the Short North area of Columbus March 9-11. Finals night will be held Sat., March 12, at the Lincoln Theater located at 769 E. Long St., Columbus, OH 43203.

 The Boston Poetry Slam, in conjunction with Poetry Slam, Inc., is pleased to announce that the 2011 National Poetry Slam will be held in Cambridge and Boston. This event will invite over 400 poets to the city participate in competition, workshops, and festival events beginning Monday, August 7, and continuing through Saturday, August 13.
