IWPS 2012 Registration

Registration for the 2012 Individual World Poetry Slam in Fayetteville, AR opens up for registered venues on August 20. Slammasters who attended or sent a proxy to the Slammaster's meeting at NPS 2012 can register their competitor. Registration will open to all in a few weeks.

NPS 2012 is Done!

The 2012 National Poetry Slam was an amazing festival and competition. Congratulations to Inkera and all of the Charlotte Team for putting on another outstanding spoken word festival.

Marc Bamuthi Joseph wins Doris Duke Foundation Award!

National Poetry Month brings better news every day! Dahled let us know that veteran poet and Slammaster Marc Bamuthi Joseph has been awarded the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation Award.

Marc is a National Poetry Slam Champion (Team San Francisco - 1999), Slammaster, YouthSpeaks co-founder, Def Poet, artistic director for HBO's Brave New Voices series, and brilliant multidisciplinary artist.

Hakim Bellamy named ABQ Poet Laureate

Poetry slam veteran Hakim Bellamy was named the 1st ever Poet Laureate of Albuquerque. Hakim is a lifetime member of PSi for winning the 2005 National Poetry Slam. Congratulations to Hakim, and to the City of Albuquerque.
