IWPS 2006 Sweetest PSI Event Ever
We have just completed the first bout of the second night at iWPS 2006 here in Charlotte, NC and I am happy to report that things are progressing about as we expected so far.
We are drinking up the Southern Hospitality of this community and learning that we have family in far flung locations, including all across American and in six foreign nations. We are an immensely talented family. We have tournament directors who anticipate all the needs of the tournament; we have hosts and hostesses who have such grace, humility and generosity it defies real understanding; we have MCs, Bout Managers, timekeepers, scorekeepers, merchandise sellers, and well wishers enough to keep our art form in front of the public for many years to come; we have a growing body of poets who possess and exploit a growing body of poetic talent. We are very blessed.
If you are reading this and can make it to Charlotte in time for the finals on Saturday night, February 4, 2006, you should drop everything and be here. This is the culmination of the vision delivered to us by Marc Smith and so many others so long ago. We really are one poetic people. We aren't done yet, but we are starting to see all the beauty on the other side of the mountain.
