Just wondering when are the actual dates for NPS because BNV is august 7th -11th this year in chicago. That may clash with NPS and just wanted to know. Mike Guinn DFW Youth Slams and Fort Worth Slams....

Well the Fort Worth Poetry Slam Fire has been re-lit. So with the help of Steven Sargent, Colin Gilbert, Dave Stanley and a few other dedicated organizers, we've made a promise to re-commit our time, energy and resources to restoring FWPS presence as a national slam powerhouse. Next year's Fort Worth Slam venue and spokenword opportunities will only cater to those who support and respect the collaborative art of creative self expression as it is presented by EVERYONE! Fort Worth Poetry Slams had one member drop off from team due to work restraints. G.F Hilton Young Soldier was replaced by Colin Gilbert. It was done via a slam off Tuesday Regular Slam.

Her name is Gisselle Robinson and she officially replaces LaQuita Alexander.

The selection process is a city wide slam off held annual in march or april where the top 12 poets who've been competing since September (which is when our slam season starts) Top 4 poets from that slam off make the team. With the 5th as an alternate.
Replacement process: If a poet is not able to compete for any reason. We replace that poet by going down the list as they finished in the slam.  starting with 5th place ...6th place ...7th place..etc.. until we have a team of 4 and 1 alternate.
