There are only 10 spots remaining in this rebellion against the arrogance of mediocrity when it comes to poetry.  NUPIC! Can you get in and GO IN? Who will represent your city? Gladiators baby! Thats what we do...we "gladiate!"  Haaaaa! And the first five that registered are sick with their gift (i want to tell you their names, but i can't tell you-trust me sun, they are fire). And don't come with weak shit, you gotta bring that BULLLLL SHIT! YOU KNOW THE NUPIC STYLE.  "WE PICK THINGS UP AND PUT THEM DOWN." (HOW MANY OF YOU POETS GOT THAT LINE IN YOUR POEM THIS YEAR-you plagerizers! HA!)

NOW. If you want in for the 3rd Annual 2011 National Poetry Individual Poetry Competition, get your guts and skills right and email harlym125@aol.com with your name, city and state you represent/team as well and a reliable number for me to text NUPIC information too. This event takes place at our Nationals, which are in Cambridge/Boston this year and after the Group Piece Finals.  The PSI President has accepted the invitation and will Slam, and now there are only 15 remaining spots. Remember it still costs $125 to get in this and ALL OF THE MONEY COLLECTED GOES TO THE WINNER. NO ONE ELSE GETS PAID ANYTHING. THAT INCLUDES ME. I TAKE NOTHING OFF THE TOP, but do accept gratuity from the champ! That makes the pot substantial. By now, you all should know this is ours and we do this for our poetry fam.  No judges, just noise. No amplification, just voice. 3 minute time limit and me, Harlym 125 is your host. NUPIC......WE ARE THE RUMBLES BENEATH THE GROUND OF POETRY.

Unless our community suggest otherwise, this event will AGAIN be incredible.  Understand this event is not sanctioned by PSI, or in contest with PSI, but is open to PSI Members Only.

The night for this competition will be Friday, August 12. The location and time of this competition will be undisclosed until the night of the event. Text messages identifying the time and location will be sent to an individual competitor or contact person for each team entering a poet to compete. The alternative to a text message will be direct contact from me, and word of mouth. If your team plans to enter a poet into the competition please email or contact me.  There will only be 16 spots.  I will accept entries up to the night of August 12.  In the event of a full list there will be a waiting list up to 8.  Once the list goes beyond 8, there will be a lottery to compete, which will take place on the spot at the time and location of the event.  This is unlike slam as many of you have known it and I dare you to fall in love with it again.  I am the maestro for this and depend on my hopefully honorable reputation amongst you all to make this happen with more unstoppable & phenomenal love than previous years…..
THIS IS OUR THIRD YEAR OF FIRE PEOPLE. AND THE FLAME IS BLAZING.

Here are the rules to the 
National Underground Poetry Individual Competition 2011 
(NUPIC)

1. Any 2011 registered PSI member or team can send a poet from their team to compete.
2. Each competitor/team has to "put up" $125 for their poet to enter the competition (all collected money goes to the winning poet-every cent)
3. Head to head slams at random draw (one loss and you're out) until a winner is pronounced
4. No Judges, just the crowd in attendance making the "call" based on applause, etc.
5. Winner take all (3 minute time limit enforced). There is no second or third place.

For the people thinking they are the "shit", put your money where your mouth is; while all other nominated entrants have fun, your team at the least believes in you.  Its May and you/each team has until August 12 to get your money "right", unless the list fills, in which case you run the risk of being on the waiting list or in the possible lottery.  Being on the waiting list means in the event a spot opens up, entrants will be selected from the list compiled in numerical order by order of entry onto the list. Every penny collected goes to the winning poet. No one is paying me, nor am I taking a percentage.  To further the point I have no hidden agenda, but I simply missed the energy of the Indy's Competition at Nationals and wanted to bring it back with a twist. It was all love last year, and by popular demand “it’s on” again this year….FOR A THIRD YEAR. LET’S MAKE SOME MORE MAGIC BABY!

*There is only one entrant with a pass into this competition and that is the President of PSI. And this honor is out of respect for the Presidency and the "honor" of Slam, as our President is the face and representative of the values of Slam. This event is annual and an invitation will always be extended to the PSI President.

No cameras. Just cell phones, “tweets”, and “You Tube” possibilities.  This is our continuation of a something great...............

Eboni Hogan.  She threw down with 15 other "fire mouths of words" and earned the admiration of our community as the face of what we value in poetry.  The coincidental beauty of the event is that any one of the competitors could have been champ. "Poetry" loves hard like that. Eboni, do us proud and hold the NUPIC Title knowing that you represent what our community is about. We are the rumbles beneath the ground of poetry.....NUPIC. "That love movement."

Thank you to our PSI Family for allowing this to happen.  Without us, there is no NUPIC.  And although none of the cameras were there for malicious reasons, I thank you for shutting them off at the request of our community and being very "cool" about it. I am proud of our family and what we bring to NUPIC.  The feelings we bring on Friday at 1,2,3, and four in the morning rival nothing short of love. All the poets competing get love and give love.  This is what we do.  And, although there are "chips (money)" involved, the integrity and sanctity of our event remains in tact.  Thanks again Scott Woods for accepting the invitation and in many ways validating the legacy this event holds in supplemental fashion to PSI.

One more time, NUPIC 2010 Champion is EBONI HOGAN.  On a side note ......I wrote all of her poems.  Never.  Eboni writes her own shit. PSI WORLD, it behooves you to understand the magnitude of "spititude" that will beguile from the vocal homes of the  NUPIC 2010 Entrants. All 16 slots are filled.  The waiting list is closed. And now the lava stirs until boiling point; where eruption is eminent and victory for one is destined.  All will shine in this moment on Friday August 06, but "won" of us will be the solar system of our planets. So awake the heavens, travel from the direction of the 4 winds, open the gates, sound the alarm, move your ass and for the "CLASH OF THESE POETIC TITANS"......RELEASE THE KRACKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And yes, it will be ugly.......like sex with you. Haaaaaa!  No video cameras!  Just cell phones, flash photography and mini-bit you-tube moments caught on cell phone. NUPIC is built from the love that poetry communes. And our community has spoken.

PSI FAMILY!  Yes indeed, the NUPIC torch is set aflame, the gladiators of "vocabulactic carnage" are braced and you have awakened the beast!  NUPIC 2010 is ready baaaaaaaaaybay.  All 16 slots are filled.  And we have begun to generate the waitlist, which only goes up to 8.  At this time we have 4 remaining spots on the wait-list.  If you want one of those spots, just email me at harlym125@aol.com. 

One month from today, "won" of you will be named NUPIC CHAMPION 2010 by our PSI Family/Community.  So get your shit tight and practice.  All money will be collected on the night of the event at the event.  And again, every cent goes to the champion.

And the menu of poets for this year's entree' is simply delicious.  So lick your lips and salivate for some of this NUPIC....... Ha! Family forward!

TIME TO RIDE OR DIE FOR OUR ART POETS!  Our PSI Community will speak and make known whom we choose as the face of our Spoken Word Family for 2010.  Rudy Francisco, we thank you for being "that dude" for us and NUPIC for 2009.  We are now on the fringes of "next level vocabolactic glory" with NUPIC 2010! One spot left.  And make a note to yourselves, the competition this year is "so fuego." Nothing short of our best selves are in the competition.  And this shit is going down on THE EVENING OF FRIDAY, AUGUST 06, after the last official PSI event of the night.  Remember, a text message will be sent out alerting the competitors of the time and location of the competition. From there, the word will get out and make sure your ass is there.  We love seeing our whole PSI family there.  Awe man, I love when we get together and rock shit. "This" is what we do family. We family forward. yeeeeeuh!

ONLY 4 SLOTS REMAINING.  If you want some of this NUPIC love baby, come get some.   An idea most teams are applying involves having each team member contribute to support the elected or earned representative for the team.  That shows support for each other and is demonstrative of our ability to invest in each other.  We have done this last year with much success and we will do so this year with even greater honor.  This is our art-form and we move ourselves, just as much as others. Still a few spots remaining, but it would be nice to have both; some southern and female representation in the competition. The East, West, and Midwest demographics are loaded and ready to rock, but we need that southern fire in the mix.  And after the foundation the women put down last year, we need you.  I'm saying, the competition looks sweet, but the aforementioned would add to the finger-licking-ness of it all! Spots are limited at this point and I encourage all remaining and interested teams and/or poets to register.  Money will be collected on the night of the event at the event. Remember all entrants will remain unknown until the night of the competition. I will be the only one to know all the competitors. Who want some of this?  Who got poems?  You got until Friday, August 06 to get your money right; $125.00. Who is the next NUPIC Crowned Champion? Will they be male, female, or transgendered? I had to take a moment to  tell our community that in less than 3 days since registration for NUPIC 2010 began, varying coasts have responded to begin filling up the 16 spots; and it's important to note, that already this event is going to be a BEAST!  You know I can't tell you who, but I can tell you to know when I yell fire, I mean fire.  And right about now I'm yelling fire!  Lets go family!  What state/team is next to sign up a "gladiator of vocabulary and defender of human expression?"  Will you "PUT ON FOR YOUR CITY?"   Say something.....I dare you.

Awe man, I love this community and our art-form!
