Boise Poetry Slam is an umbrella for two Boise shows, Poetry Slam Delux (21+) and Slam of Steel (all ages)

Boise Slam Team Finals Qualification:

1. From previous Finals to Finals, poets who get 1st place get 3 points towards being in Finals, 2nd place = 2 points, 3rd place = 1 point.

2. Top 8 poets compete in Finals at Poetry Slam Delux in April. Poets must sign contract before competing. Boise currently takes 4 team members, sometimes a coach or alternate as well but only the top 4 poets are guaranteed Team status.

Replacement process: If team members drop out or are unable to perform according to the contract (attendance, etc.) and are dropped from the team, the first person asked to join the team will be the first runner-up from Finals, then the next runner-up, and so on until the Finals roster is used up. After that folks can be asked according to their number of points from the season.

Any chance there will be some sort of a schedule of events available?

I know it's wildly early by poet standards, but for anyone applying for grant money to attend, grantors expect tangible evidence and it would be amazing to have some to show them.

Both slams accrue points May through April's Finals at Neurolux.

3 points for 1st, 2 points for 2nd, 1 point for 3rd.

Poets who attend Reading and Workshop Series workshops at Boise State SUB, 6:30 the day of the Neurolux slam, AND compete at either of that month's slams, get an additional 1 point.

Boise Poetry Slam
3rd Monday of every month
at The Funny Bone
405 S. 8th St.
Boise ID 83702

Boise Slam Team Finals Qualification:

1. September to March, poets who get 1st place get 3 points towards being in Finals, 2nd place = 2 points, 3rd place = 1 point.
2. September to March, poets who attend a Reading and Workshop Series workshop (held at 5 pm at Boise State University same day as the slam) get 1 point towards Finals.
3. Hosts of Boise Poetry Slam get 1 point per hosting.

Top poets compete in Finals at the slam in April. Poets must sign contract before competing. Boise currently takes 5 team members, sometimes a coach or alternate as well but only the top 5 poets are guaranteed Team status.

Replacement process: If team members drop out or are unable to perform according to the contract (attendance, etc.) and are dropped from the team, the Slammaster has the discretion to replace them (we only need 4 on the team so if one person drops they do not necessarily have to be replaced). If they are replaced, the first person asked to join the team will be the first runner-up from Finals, then the next runner-up, and so on until the Finals roster is used up. After that folks can be asked according to their number of points from the season.

General Discussion / is there an electronic emcee spiel?
« on: April 20, 2007, 05:01:52 PM »
Gosh I just want to cut and paste the emcee spiel into a thing. I can't find it anywhere but my actual SM handbook. If it's not wrong (copyright?) for it to be electronic, could someone please point me that way?

Many thanks!

Also with the gut. But beautiful, beautiful work! Thank you!

Next time: the reverse fish-eye lens to make us all half our width.
