I think I got more content out of the sound of mic hitting floor than any single syllable uttered before it.

General Discussion / Re: NPS 2009 Shuttles?
« on: May 27, 2009, 07:27:28 AM »
And to be clear, the Tri-Rail goes through Ft. Lauderdale airport.

-Jesster

Thank you Jesse.  Looks like the train ride is a great option.  I looked in to shuttles from FLL to the host hotel and it was going to be $20 a head plus tax and tip.  That would have put us out the cost of another plane ticket.

General Discussion / NPS 2009 Shuttles?
« on: May 26, 2009, 05:53:31 PM »
We're looking at booking flights in to Ft Lauderdale.  Will there be a list of local shuttle companies available that can offer discounts for larger parties?  I'm sure the hotel will not offer free shuttle rides to FLL 50 miles away.

Will it be on C-Span?  That would be more interesting programing

Hey Whoopee, I thought Nats was Aug. 3-8 this year.. Am I on crack, or is everyone not going to NPS? <grin>

Gabrielle...I think you are in a time warp.  That post you quoted was from 2007.  I believe you are correct on the August 3-8 dates for NPS 2009.  We will not be doing DIPS this year.  We are going to gear up for a 2010 and 2011 DIPS the first weekend in June of both years regardless of where NPS is located.

General Discussion / Re: see you in charlotte?
« on: December 09, 2008, 01:25:49 AM »

Three hundred and some odd dollars for a plane ticket to Charlotte from Dallas...96 dollars in gasoline there and back in my beautiful Puerto Rican wife's incredibly fuel efficient Honda Civic.  Don't think of it as 15 hours behind the wheel, think of it as 15 CDs I get to listen to.

Number 1: Sea Change by Beck, and who knows what the next 14 will be.

Mad Respeck...See you guys next week.

Joaquin

Yo daddio....I think of it as a three hour plane ride with 2 movies to watch on the i-pod and what will pop up on the shuffle after that.  Looking forward to seeing you in Charlotte my friend
