I might as well chip in.

This is Deanna "She Who Is Absent This Year" Kulpa.

I presided over a secret ceremony this past Tuesday conferring powers of the sacred feminine to Ann Arbor's own "Team Weiner".  So no matter what the females on your team pour out on the stage, our boys will bring a rocking return safe from your womanly wiles.

And don't forget, Deb is still Coach.  She rocks it so hard she doesn't even have to get up on stage to prove it and everybody knows.



Good luck to everyone next week.  Keep me posted!  Details, people, I want details!

Matt ,

Even if you decided to tattoo your poems to your stomach, take off your shirt while on stage and read them right off your torso, you would still rule.

And I'm a girl.  

And I think I get your jokes.  At least, I laugh at them.  You may be directly mocking me and all of my kind and it's so far over my head that I don't realize it.  But hell, I guess I'd still laugh anyway.

Yes, well, will you have on your team a woman who not only writes poetry, but ALSO just came up with a way to study a protein that like minded geeks have been trying to find for years, has created this assay, and now has ACTUALLY GOTTEN IT TO WORK?!  Oh, yes, my protein is alive and well and I can prove it.  Perhaps I'll just adapt my Nobel Prize acceptance speech as a poem.  

I'm a poetic protein prophet.  You really don't stand a chance...

P.S.  I am really really excited I got this assay to work.   my poor slam team has been hearing me gripe about for weeks now.  I am nearly beside myself with elation.  I promise to be thinking of you all specifically when I acknowledge all of  "the little people who helped get me here" in Stockholm.

But Steve, you posted the dates for the NPS to be August 4-7, and the crappy site that you link to says the dates are August 3-8.

I am inclined to believe YOU,  but I'm just double checking dates here so that I can warn my boss when I'll be gone.
