Individual World Poetry Slam - VOLUNTEER FORM
Thank you for your interest in the 2008 individual World Poetry Slam ,another Poetry Slam Inc. event in partnership with SlamCharlotte. We are looking for volunteers to help staff events from Wednesday December 10th until Saturday December 13th . We are also looking for people to help with a variety of other tasks leading up to the main event.

Volunteers are an integral part of this event and will receive FREE admission to all events except finals and the erotic open mic. All volunteers who work 3 or more events will receive a complimentary ticket for the finals night show.

Door/Tickets: Your job is to man the door, and check poet/volunteer passes & tickets.
Merchandise: This person(S) will sell merchandise belonging to the poets and sell event t-shirts. You will be responsible for keeping an accurate account of the merchandise received/returned to each poet and keeping an accurate count of the money collected and owed to each poet.
Scorekeeper: this person(s) will write down the poets score and tally them up.
Wed.-1 (last chance slam)
Timekeeper: this person(s) will keep track of the poet's time using a stop watch
Registration :Check poets in as they arrive in lovely Charlotte. Assist in giving out poet/volunteer badges
Runner: this person(s) will serve as a gopher. They will assist with a little of everything.
Set-up : Move the mics, test the mics, get the stage ready to go for the event or bout and assist in setting up chairs . (We probably won't need set up crew because of the venues but let's wait and see)
Clean-up: Put away all the equipment after a bout or event is over (there will definitely be some crossover between the set-up & clean-up folks) (We probably won't need clean up because of the venues but let's wait and see)
Greeter: this person will greet the poets as they arrive at the hotel and help with directions to the various events.(These persons will probably man the slam headquarters to field questions also.)
Bout managers/emcee's are taken care of through PSI.
