yes, the no-repeat rule was repealed, and the idea of no repeats in consecutive years, at least on finals stage, was brought up but never settled.  i agree with you, and believe that the show needs to be good for the non-slam audience, while i personally would like to see all the best pieces i will inevitably miss in prelims and semis while at nationals.  thats all i got for you man.

Flagslam
Every Wednesday night @ 8pm

2 rounds, 3:00 limit, no nudity, props, costumes, or instruments.  Original work only.  Half point deduction for every :10 overtime.

Olympic-style scoring, 5 random judges, drop high and low.

Over the course of the slam season (August 22nd - April 14th) poets that compete will earn points to earn a spot in the Grand Slam.  The top ten poets will compete in the Grand Slam along with two wild card winners from slots 11-17, and the top four overall poets will make up the 2010 Flagslam Team.

Here is the point system:
1st place at FlagSlam = 3 points.
2nd place at FlagSlam = 2 points.
3rd place at a FlagSlam = 1 points.
Competing in a FlagSlam = . 5 point.
Hosting a FlagSlam = . 5 of a point.

Ryan Brown.  Flagstaff Poetry Slam.  First Year slammaster, and we emailed Steve to get some info but never heard back.  Can't see/access SM forum.  Help?
