The strongest slam in that area is probably Rocktown Slam in Little Rock.

I've featured there before and it was awesome.

Ok I see.

If you know anyone who might have a few sets of final stage scores that would be awesome. Trying to construct a data set.

Thanks! Sadly that is the future... Looking for the past.

Good start though!

I am a bit of a slam history buff and I am wondering if anyone has a database of the finals scores at nats for any of the past ten years or so.

I've searched the forums extensively, but I didn't have much luck.

Thanks everyone!

If you value your clothing you will avoid my bouts at NPS this year.

Boogers/Turds....Are these props?  I'd say they are...They are not necessarily available to everyone.

Second, at our Slam Off, we had a guy ask the host if he could hook up his beat to the sound system... The host said no, and the guy looked like he was going to play his beat through his headphones on the microphone..  He didn't end up doing it, but as bout manager I was scrambling through this forum to determine what the point penalty would be.  I am assuming it is instant DQ?

If any teams are thinking they are probably going to drop, please do it early.  At Southern Fried this year we had teams that just didn't show up, had they cancelled earlier we could have had other teams registered in their place...

Totally not saying this because my team is on the waiting list... but it is worth noting.

Abs.  Slam Knoxville wants to be on the waiting list.  You should've gotten my email a few hours ago.

General Discussion / Poetry Slam Dying?
« on: May 04, 2012, 07:55:53 PM »
According to some of the downers out there, slam poetry is dying out.

http://www.google.com/trends/?q=%22poetry+slam%22&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all&sort=0

According to this chart, it appears as though searches are on average, at a slight but steady increase.  I'm sure there are a million different explanations for this, but thought it would be something interesting for the community to see.

It would be interesting to look at the search spikes in the cities where NPS was located each year.

Southern Fried Poetry Slam still has some spots available.

Register here.  But do it fast,  there are only 3-4 spots remaining according to some recent estimates.
