Did you see Poetri playing a nerd auctioneer on Bones the other night? Nice big role at a big nerd convention. He was perfect.

Not EXACTLY the intent of this thread, but extremely notable for where Slam is headed: new territory!
Congratulations to Marc and Mark!

A little less formal than desired, but what the hell: We have entered the satellite world. Every week, Tues. 9:00 pm, Fri. 6:00 pm and Sat. at 10:30 am, on Channel 163 XM/ 117 Sirius--Book Channel, 'Slam the Radio: Today's Poetry' will be broadcast. A weekly, hour show, hosted by Marc Smith, live from the Green Mill, with an open mic, feature and slam, some music, audience gasps, the whole bit.

Each week will be a different show. The shows will then be available for download at Audible.com

There's a little more to it, but there ya' are for now. If you like the show, have some critiques or ideas, drop me a line. If you don't have satellite radio I do believe that some cable networks broadcast the stations on the TV.

Our first show, tonight, features a wide array of virgin, virgin's at the Green Mill. Enjoy!

Good morning-

I am sure that this isn't quite Breaking through as of yet (sometimes you ahve to make your own opportunities), but Slammer Brent Heffron (Noraz/Mesa) and I (Mesa) have been working on a film project called sacrifice, and we have some pictures from our recent shoot:

Just go here, and hit the pictures link...

Also, didn't Buddy Wakefield open up for Ani DiFranco on her tour about a year and a half ago?
I'm not sure about this one though.

yes, he did. And got standing ovations. Ani's from buffalo, NY. The way I got the story is that her mom works at the major national modern Art Gallery where we used to have the show, supporting the venue by passing out membership flyers. She caught Buddy at our finals one year, and told Ani about it. he's toured with her more than once now. Just for the record.

Gee, I hope Ani writes some more terribly poetry for speech teamers to cover.

I don't think it's her fault the speech teamers are covering her terrible poetry. ;)

So I think I'm about to spend my Friday off going to see a Jennifer Aniston movie, which has three of Vancouver's top spoken word artists' words and faces in it! Look for the Svelte Ms. Spelt, Scruffmouth and Zaccheus Jackson. The movie is called "Love Happens".
You RAT BASTARD - you're ruining for everyone!
But it was WELL WORTH IT.

LOVED Fanboys. Forgot the DVD to bring to Nats for Shappy to autograph. Stupidly told him that, but he was a good and patient poet-movie star.
