Poetri and Arby's
« on: May 22, 2007, 04:30:51 PM »
Man, that Poetri sure looks good in a yellow and black bee suit working that jack hammer doesn't he???

When I pointed him out on TV to our 18 year old daughter Maggie, she said, "Hey, I know him! He stayed here before. Now he's famous!"

Please tell me this isn't the first time you've seen him on TV.

Steve...c'mon. Don't tell me that.

No, I saw him on TV before, but this is the first time I've ever seen him working a jack hammer wearing a black and yellow bee suit!

Actually, it´s the first time I have seen him on TV as well.  What else has he done?

He played (of all things) a host for a Poetry Slam on one episode of The Ghost Whisperer and I saw him in another commercial once, but I'm having trouble remembering what it was. Not like that bee suit!

Remember that show Black & White (it's in this forum somewhere)? He was on that.

He is one of the Arby's guys (been in a rack of commercials for them); he's done other commercials I think

And then the stuff Steve said.

He was also in the recent Will Ferrell movie "Blades of Glory." For a second. But he had one of the funnier moments in the movie. While sportscasters were discussing the "ridiculousness" of two male pair skaters, Poetri, being interviewed on the street, holds up a hotdog bun with two hotdogs inside it and asks, "Does this look right to you?"
"The world must be all fucked up when men travel first class and literature goes as freight."

One Hundred Years of Solitude, Gabriel García Márquez

I had to go see it because one of our former poets was an extra in the movie and shown quite a bit.

Better than average.  He had no lines, but I recognized him on three different occasions.

I couldn't tell you what the hell the movie was like, I was just looking for Mike.
